Enforcing our policies

To foster a positive, safe, and authentic community we take our policies seriously. When we identify a violation of our Community Guidelines, our Trust & Safety Teams take action to address it. This includes:

  • Sending a warning that the behavior is not allowed (note: multiple warnings can lead to a ban if the violation is repeated)

  • Removing the violating content

  • Hiding violating content from others' view

  • Requiring a user to pass automated checkpoints like a captcha, photo or age verification

  • Banning a user's profile from Tinder

In certain situations where there is immediate danger, Tinder will work with appropriate authorities to respond to the situation. In any instances of child abuse material, the user involved will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and/or the relevant local agencies.

We don’t believe all violations are the same and regularly evaluate whether the resulting action is appropriate for the behavior. This includes finding new ways to educate users and/or take action.
